Discovering the Excitement of Downtown Austin, TX

Austin, Texas is a city with a rich history and diverse culture, and its Downtown Austin area is a bustling hub of activity that reflects this vibrancy.

From live music venues and trendy restaurants to historical landmarks and outdoor spaces, downtown Austin has something for everyone.

One of the most iconic features of downtown Austin is its skyline, which is dominated by the towering Texas State Capitol building. This striking structure was built in the late 19th century and is made of pink granite, giving it a unique and unmistakable appearance. Visitors to the Capitol can take guided tours of the building and learn about its history and significance.

Another notable landmark in downtown Austin is the Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge, which is home to the world's largest urban bat colony. Every evening, from March to November, thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats emerge from beneath the bridge to begin their nightly hunt for insects. This spectacular sight draws crowds of tourists and locals alike, and is a must-see for anyone visiting downtown Austin.

It sits high on a bluff overlooking the lake, with an extensive network of hundreds of decks where you can sit, eat and drink, and watch the sun set over the lake. This makes the Oasis is a common thing to do while in Austin.
